Bishop Christopher L. Brown is a pastor, preacher, episcopal leader, and Kingdom builder whose ministry is marked by a passion for revival, restoration, leadership development, and strengthening the local church. His journey from humble beginnings to episcopal leadership reflects a life shaped by faith, perseverance, service, and an unwavering commitment to the call of God.
Born December 18, 1985, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Artiece and Tracey Brown, Bishop Brown is the eldest of three siblings. He was educated within the Jersey City Public School District and graduated from Career Academy High School.
His spiritual foundation was established at Jersey City Deliverance Center, where he faithfully served for 24 years under the leadership of Apostle Dr. Eugene Stackhouse. At the age of 14, Bishop Brown experienced a defining spiritual awakening that began shaping the direction of his life. During these formative years, he also developed his musical gifts, studying organ and keyboard under the late Professor William Spruill.
His journey of faith was not without seasons of testing. At 17, Bishop Brown encountered the pressures and distractions of life that challenged the spiritual foundation established during his youth. At the age of 20, he made the life-changing decision to fully recommit his life to God. That decision marked the beginning of a deeper pursuit of God, spiritual maturity, and a clearer understanding of his purpose. At the age of 24, he accepted the divine call to ministry.
Bishop Brown credits much of his biblical foundation, ministerial development, and understanding of church leadership to the spiritual fathers, mothers, and mentors God strategically placed throughout his journey. Among those who significantly contributed to his development are Apostle Dr. Eugene Stackhouse, Assistant Pastor Sibyl A. Ponder, the late Pastor Isaiah T. Ingram, and the late District Elder Walter B. Lucas Jr. Through their instruction, mentorship, correction, and example, Bishop Brown developed a deep appreciation for sound doctrine, spiritual order, servant leadership, and the responsibility that accompanies ministry.
Throughout his years of service, Bishop Brown has served the Church in numerous capacities, including Organist, Minister, Chief Adjutant, Elder, and Pastor. These experiences shaped a leadership philosophy grounded in the conviction that ministry is first and foremost about service. For Bishop Brown, titles do not establish the measure of leadership; faithfulness, integrity, accountability, and service do.
In October 2023, after years of ministerial service and leadership, Christopher L. Brown was consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop. His episcopal ministry carries a particular burden for strengthening pastors and ministry leaders, restoring biblical order, cultivating healthy churches, developing emerging leadership, and creating meaningful relationships across denominational and generational lines.
Today, Bishop Brown serves as the Senior Pastor of Dwelling Place Revival Cathedral in Newark, New Jersey, formerly Outreach Miracle Revival Ministries, a ministry founded by the late Pastor Isaiah T. Ingram. Under his leadership, Dwelling Place Revival Cathedral is embracing its identity as a ministry committed to revival, restoration, deliverance, discipleship, spiritual formation, and tangible community impact.
His ministry extends beyond the local church through W.O.R.K. — Working Out Restoring Kingdom, where Bishop Brown serves as the Establishmentarian. W.O.R.K. exists as a fellowship and Kingdom network designed to cultivate meaningful relationships among Bishops, Apostles, Overseers, Pastors, and ministry leaders while providing opportunities for spiritual development, leadership formation, accountability, fellowship, collaboration, and Kingdom advancement. Through W.O.R.K., Bishop Brown seeks to help create an environment where leaders do not have to build in isolation. His vision emphasizes connection without competition, relationship beyond organizational boundaries, the strengthening of local churches, and the development of leaders who serve with character, integrity, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the Kingdom of God.
Bishop Brown is married to the beautiful and anointed Overseer Tyra Brown, who serves alongside him in life and ministry. Together, they share a commitment to faith, family, ministry, and building what God has entrusted to their hands. Bishop Brown is also the devoted father of six children: Syniah, Shamar, Neriah, Nya, Nasir, and Symora. Despite the responsibilities of ministry and episcopal leadership, he considers his role as husband and father among his greatest assignments.
At the heart of Bishop Christopher L. Brown’s ministry is an unwavering conviction: Jesus Christ is real, the Gospel still has power, and the Church still has a responsibility to reach people, restore lives, develop disciples, strengthen leaders, and prepare a generation for the return of Christ. His mandate is clear: to serve faithfully, build people intentionally, strengthen the Church, restore Kingdom order, and leave every assignment better than he found it.
